Looking for a 7.3

I'm sure this happens a lot here, but I'm looking for the expert advise. I'm new to this forum, but not to the 7.3. I used to own one about 5 years ago, sold it due to $$, and now I'm looking to get one again. I absolutely loved the truck and this little 1/2 ton dodge just ain't cuttin' it.

What kind of price range am I looking at? I've checked nada and what not, but with your experience, what are they really going for?

I plan on lurking here quite a bit as I search, but thought I'd get this going and see what ya'll have to say. Any opinions on specifics I should really be looking for?

Thanks in Advance.

Really it just depends on what years you are looking at and what type of trim you want. I would say for decent mileage and good condition, 14-17k for a 2000 or 2001. The 02s and 03s are going to be higher of course. The 2000 was a really good year.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that I'm looking for a 94-98. My old 7.3 was a 95 and I love the box style.

Just found one locally for 8,900 for a 97. Has 156k on it. I don't know personally, but I do know who the owner is (seen him around town, etc). He seems fairly mechanically inclined and lives with buddies that all drive nice trucks. The impression I got from him (before his truck was for sale) is that he takes good care of his vehicles. He does haul a horse trailer with it though.

What are your thoughts?
