Question Am I missing something?...See Pic

Truck: 1997 F250, All Stock

Background: This truck is new to me. I got it about a month ago. Had a mechanic check it over before the purchase. He identified several minor issues, but overall OK. This is my first diesel and first PSD.

Problem: There appears to be a cap or something missing on the passenger side of the engine. It looks like it might be the oil cap, but I don't know. Does anyone know if there is something that should be in this spot, highlighted in red?

Thanks in advance.

You're missing the top of the oil fill cap. The internal ratchet fails and then Mechanics pop the top off to get the cap off.

Thanks guys!

I suspected it might be the oil cap based on placement. Maybe I'll replace it with a shiny one! Do you have any suggestions?

They probably are pretty reasonable through the dealer if they are available, I would think they would be.
