OBS 97 truck box and xlt trim/mouldings

I smucked the drivers side of my box and supercab on my 97 and am looking to find a whole truck with a good box or a box in decent shape and am wondering if the 1989 style box and xlt mouldings and trim are the same as the 97 style and what other parts off the 89 style truck will be the same as mine
thanks

The trim is different, everything else is the same except for the wheel well molding. Wheel well molding on the 87-91 trucks is solid color and lacks the black rubber insert that the 92-96 trucks have. The body molding is a different shape, as well as being wider. The tailgate trim panel has a red stripe instead of a black one, and the lettering on the tailgate is slightly different. People have claimed that the tail lights are different, but I haven't seen a bit of difference. When I swapped the beat bed of my 87, I put a 95 model bed on it and had no problems whatsoever.

The 87-91 tail light difference is the reverse lights wraps all the way around, and the 92-97 do not, btw doors interchange as well

You could probably swap a box and never notice a difference, except for all the little things like stated above. The tail lights are different, the reverse light part of the tail light wraps around the side on the 87-91 models vs the just the square spot on the 92-97. At least it is on some of the models, found that out when I needed a tail light and only had one from a brick nose.

On another note, if you have enough cash you could buy my truck for a parts truck. You would never know anything ever happened, and look how much you could save on paint. lol.

Thanks for the info guy's,I found a 2wd 1990 with the idi 7.3 in nice shape for sale and was thinking of buying it and useing the box for mine and throw a deck on the the 90.It's tough going finding any older ford that isn't rusted right out up here in good ol Canada, mine was in pretty good shape till the other day.
Kramarj-That would be a good Idea, give me a good deal on yours and I'll park my beast in the field and keep it for a parts truck minus the box!
The odds of me finding another truck with our paint up here is next to imposible,I have only seen one going down the road up here since i bought mine and I think it was a 460
