460 to 7.3??

I have a 95 f250 5spd 460, want to put in a 7.3... any recommendations?

'97 F250 HD PSD, 4x4, Auto, Ext Cab, LB, 4" Lift, Tint, 80/120 hp DP Tuner, Straight Piped, AFE Stage 2 Air Intake w/ Pro-Guard 7, Aftermarket Intercooler, SpecRite Dual Disk Torque Converter, Pumped Up Tranny w/ Transgo Kit, MagHytec Deep Tranny Pan, Pyro, Boost and Tranny Temp Autometer Gauges, Pro Comp Adjustable Shocks, 305/70/16 BFG Mud Terrains on Weld Rims, Spray on Bedliner, Flip Down DVD Player

I've done it, The harnesses were the most time consuming part of the job.

7.3, Auto., 4x4, 6637, Straight Piped Stock Exhaust, WW, Foilgone.

I did 460 to 6.9 then to 95 7.3 PSD. 460 has the same bell housing casting as a 7.3 but it's drilled different so you will need a trans, also you need the mounts and towers for 7.3. Other than that it will bolt right in for you. Now the fuel tank and lines can be converted over, in 95 the 460 has a pump in the tank and the 7.3 has a mechanical pump on top of the motor. If it's duel tank the switch valve for gas won't work.

You will need the PCM and IDM to go with the 7.3 and the under hood loom would be best. You may need the gage cluster for the tac if you don't have one. The diesel lights in the dash would be good but it will run with out it, it's the only thing I cant get to work on mine.

Sitting on a 84 F350 6.9 4X4 chassis
With all the drive train and goodies from a 95 4X4 4door PSD.
Nothing stock left on her and not a nut, bolt, hose, or wire on there that I didn't put where it is.

The Wifes Ride:
2002 Excursion Limited 7.3 PSD

Themo King/Mikuni coolant heaters on both to keep things toasty without idling.
