4.5" backspacing or 4"?

well got all excited for nothing today, got my tires(military takeoffs) and went to mount them on my wheels and they dont fit, my wheels are 16.5x12. Im tryin to fit them on 37x12.5/16.5 so,......im getting 16.5x9.75 wheels but they have a 4.5" backspacing and i want to know if they will rub with 37's at full lock. i might just get 16.5x8.25 opinions?

4.5" back spacing is pretty much standard on these trucks.

correct...kinda, they fit but won't seat properly since they're 12.5" wide tires on 12" wide rims

You actually tried to seat one? I would think they would seat perfect. I've never mounted a tire that big so maybe big skins are different...?

my father had a set of 37 military take offs and the wheels we put them on were 13 inches i believe wide but we had to use inter tubes to get them to work but for some reason the military 36 that was originally on it fit fine

12.5 tires on a 12" rim is big NO NO. ESPECIALLY on a 16.5 that has almost no bead to keep the tire on

Looking for Blue 40-20-40 seats. PM me !!!!!!!

^^^ how come? I'm seriously asking. I don't have any personal experience with tires that big.
