Truck Dead

Went out to start the truck,turn the key on everything was normal. Went to crank it turn over then nothing. all fuses are good,the relay for the IDM is clicking,no head lights, installed gauges not working,(unpluged them) the wait to start,abs and so on are very dimm. was thinking wiring harness under valve cover shorted out glow plug selonid shorted out maybe starter shorted.

Anymore ideas would be great. Truck is 14 miles away in a secure area.

The batteries are good? Also check fuse 22 in the power distribution box in the engine compartment. If its burnt then you probobly have the fuel heater element shorting out in your fuel bowl.

The batteries have 12.6 volts each the 22 fuse is good all the fuses in the power dis box are good as well in the cab

Hmm I guess start with the basics and make sure your connections are all good first. Almost sounds like there is a bad ground. Does the light dim as you crank or while you just cycle the key to the wait to start?

The lights on the dash are dimm when i turn the key on. the truck well not crank. the head lights don't even work. But why would the relay for the idm be clicking when i turn the key on?

Take all your battery terminals off and clean then really well and I almost bet money it will fire right up.

I well give that a try in the morn. Thank you for the help. Seems the easy things are over looked.
