Intercooler on 94-98 powerstroke?

i was wondering if anyone has put an intercooler on the non intercooled motors. my friend has a intercooler from a 2002 stroker and we want to put that on his 95 motor. He has a 96 f-150 that he straight axeled, then custom lifted 12 inches with 39's and now is taking out the 302 in favor of a powerstroke....any input would be great we need to get this done before May jamboree in Lima, OH..SORRY FOR THE LONG POST!

Did you 2 think about the 1/2 ton frame and the weight of the PSD? The torqu the powerstroke makes might twist up the frame of a 150.

they are fully boxing in the frame...his dad is pretty incredible......they made a 79 crew cab short bed into a long bed by lengthening the frame.....i am not worried about the structure at all and he already has replaced axles...just wondered if anyone has pics of maybe hows banks does it or any custom job.

OBS 1/2 ton is same as 3/4 & 1 ton as far as frame in the front. Suspension is gonna be way light on a 302 truck but it sounds like it's been all changed out and lifted. It's not still sitting on coil springs is it?

The swap is not that bad as long as you get ALL the wires, boxes, and dash cluster stuff with the Powerstroke. Also the trans computer stuff if it's an auto truck. Then the 8.8 axle in the back will also need to be beefed way up.

Another thing is the speed sensor in a 1/2 ton is in the T-case I think and may not work for the psd's computer, need to look into that. I had to pull my Dana 70 axle out and put the Stirling 10.25 in my truck just for the speed sensor.

I have no help on the air-to-air other than to say it can be done.

no springs in front...custom hangers and leafs up front.....his cousins truck is the donor truck as he got hit in the rear and totaled so we have the entire motor and tranny...the 150 also has new axles front and rear. no more 8.8 way too little! doesn't banks make a kit for this motor?

Yes you can put in a interccoler check out GTS They have all the stuff you need

I bought it from ATS when I worked for them. I dont recomend it unless your staying low on power. It is now to small for me, but will have to do untill I can afford to install a sick-oh intercooler....
