2000 f250 dana 60 for my 96.. few questions

So I finally got myself a dana 60, leaf springs, shackles and ubolts out of a 2000 f250. Just wanted to know how everyone elses swaos went and if you have and tips for me thatd be great.

Are you sure it's out of a 2000? You need a '97 or earlier. IIRC until '04 the F250 SDs had a solid D50 front axle, not D60 and it' a LOT different than what we swap into the OBS 250s. Everthing is different from spring length to shaft yoke.

yeah actaully i know its a dana 50 i have the leafs and shackles from it also and brakes and all that fun stuff i'm not even gonna be running my front drive line until i get new gears anyways haha.. i only paid $150 for it with everything but a tie rod. i couldnt pass up a deal like that. i'm just desperate to get rid of this ttb garbage lol

For the amount of time, effort and money you are going to spend triyng to make it work you would be WAY ahead just getting the right D60 in the first place. I'm not kidding dude, everything is different. Nothing is going to bolt up.

i agree with JJ

dont forget the d50 also has 8x170mm lug pattern not the 8x6.5 the OBS trucks do.

yeah i have wheels adapters. already. what other money will i have to spend i have the shackles and leaf springs already. so i guess the drive line but **** thats easy and cheap. oh and my gears thatll be a pretty penny but i just measured my leafs and they are both the same length..

sorry i stand corrected they are 1" longer shouldnt be to hard to fab up at all actually. if anything i'll make my own shackles my only concern now is the driveline. not really worried about things bolting up now haha thats what the welder is for. but the drive shaft definitely was good information thank you. im sure i woulda figured it out but nice to know before hand

Get an rsk and the springs will bolt up, the trac bar mount will need fabbing to work as well

Precision Metal Fab sells a RSK to bolt in and use the 99-04 SD axle
