E4OD to ZF5 swap
I want to put a zf5 in my truck. I found two out of idis, one 2x4 and the other 4x4. My truck is 4x4 which I would need. Do the idi zf5s fit on a 7.3 powerstroke? Also, what would be needed to convert a 2x4 into a 4x4?

any zf from a 7.3 will work. However you do want the 4x4 trans.

Will there be any special things because its from an idi

It's not rated to hold as much tq, but will be fine behind a slightly modded psd

My plans were to put a southbend clutch in and my HP goal is 400-450 will it hold it?

It should be fine, but I'm not sure as to what makes the idi trans and psd trans different I just know they are not rated as high from the factory, go ahead an do a smf while your at it tho, dmf is known to grenade and blow apart the case

Also, how much would it cost to convert a 2wd to 4x4 because the 2wd is $250 cheaper then the 4x4 is.
