1997 F350 Daully swap to Single

I just purchased a 1997 F350 Powerstroke Daully! I am wanting to put a single axle in the back and put a regular 8ft bed on it. I was wondering if anybody on here has done anything like this, and is it hard? Please let me know your info! Thanks!

I haven't done it but I may be interested in your dually parts where are you located at

You are on the right track.

I will assume your dually is 2wd.

You will need a single wheel rear axle
Single wheel bed
Single wheel front hub/rotors
4 single wheel rims

My daully is 4x4, But its a single cab and I dont like that look, I already have 4 single wheel rims and tires, just have to get the important stuff. lol and Im located in Dayton, OH.

Ok, then your truck was converted(Ford did Not make a 4wd dually pickup till99)

So you MAY have bolt on adapters front and back.
All you MAY have to do is get rid of the adapters then bolt single wheels on
And also a single wheel bed

Sorry, the guy said it had leafs springs in the front so I figured it was 4x4, but its not

lol. And it has the 5:13 gears in the rear, and he said it only gets about 13mpg, so if I switch it to a single wheel, what gear ratio it the best for speed and mpg ?
