F350 7.3 buying advice
Hey guys, i've been looking into getting a powerstroke for a while now. I found one for sale that I'm interested in. It is a 1997 f350 crewcab powerstroke with 155miles. The body is in near perfect condition, only a few small dings. The guy claims that everything listed is new or rebuilt: transmission, steering box, column + electrical, rad, batteries, bilstein shocks/bushings, entire glowplug system, cai, cam sensor, firestone airbags and a starter. He originally listed it for 11000 but I watched for a while and he dropped it to 10000. After talking to him he said he could sell for 9500. I'm just wondering if this is a reasonable price? It has not been chipped and the exhaust is stock. Also what are some other mechanical issues I could run into? I'll post pictures when I can.
Thanks |

Check turbo for pitting, and blow by with the oil flip cap, is it 4x4? If so price sounds decent with mileage like that, good luck and show us piks

I wouldn't pay that price. I got my 00 with under 100,000 miles for 12. I also sold my 95 with 110,000 for 6. Maybe its just where I live though? I guess you could live in a more expensive market but Man that seems steep to me.

4wd sounds fair. 2wd is HIGH |

OBS command premiums due to the pre 98 non smog in certain states. locally you can buy a superduty with less miles for about the same price as an OBS

I went and looked at the truck today. It seems to be in pretty good shape. Engine is clean. The only thing is that the odometer is in mph but he says that the 280k is in km. How do I tell if what's he's saying is bs or not. If I searched the Vin would it tell me if the truck was originally an american or Canadian truck?
