trans cooler install
new guy needs a little help. looking at intalling a larger trans cooler in place of the stock cooler, is the factory cooler after the rad cooler - direction of flow? 95 powerstroke

flow should come out of the trans, through the rad cooler, then to the factory external cooler, then back to the trans....

i answered your PM bill....the proper way to install a bigger cooler would be this....
Trans to rad to cooler1 to cooler2 back to trans doesnt matter which external cooler is where (cooler1 and cooler2 are interchangable) but the radiator cooler should be the first to get flow the rearward line on the trans should be the return line.... |

fwiw i just use a huge torqueshift cooler and did away with the factory rad cooler. Empty my temps never get higher than 150 and loaded rarely cross 165.

thats what i put in luke but still ran it thru the radiator. i think i have it going thru the cooler then the radiator because it's not running as cool as you are
