wiring after bronco tank swap

I went and installed the 35 gallon bronco tank in my rig, the tank was a donor from an 80's bronco with mechanical fuel pump and has 3 wires running from the sender. Our tanks have 4 wires running from the sender, 3 of which are the same color as the bronco tank sender and the other i believe has something to do with the solenoid selector maybe? I've gone and spliced the 3 same colored wires into the factory connector but looks like my fuel gauge wont read it. Is there a way to make this wiring work?

I believe you have to modify your pick up and float on the me from your truck to make the bronco tank work

even on an in tank electric fuel pump unit only 3 of the four wires are used
our trucks use 1 for the sender and maybe a grd
shouldnt be too hard to look at some pics and find the wire you need
