97 f250 7.3 good deal for 1000$?

Looking at a 97 f250 crew cab short box. Guy wants 1000$ for it. Body is pretty rough don't think there is a panel on it without a dent or rust hole. Interior is ok. It's an auto (rebuilt 5,000ago)with 3:55 gears. Got 195,000. Needs new exhaust, drivers side ttb is junk(cracked). Tires are pretty much brand new. Would like some opinions on what everybody thinks it might be worth?

Perfect candidate for a Dana 60 swap. You'll pay as much for the axle as for the truck, but it's still a steal.

Seems more like an entire resto project, but if you decide you don't want it I will give you $1200 tomorrow, make yourself some money lol

I had it pretty much decided to buy, I just needed these few kicks in the ***. Lol there was 2 more 7.3s on craigslist today in MI. One 95 f250 reg cab long box for 1500$, and a 96 f350 crew long box for 2000$ with mint body both needed granny's.

What is the easiest way to get to and replace exhaust manifold gaskets and all others from manifold to turbo? Also should I rebuild turbo while I'm doing all this exhaust stuff?

So I take it you got the truck?? Not sure i need to replace my driver side up-pipe gasket. As long as the turbo is in good shape I wouldn't worry about it.
