Dodge falls apart around motor, and the cummins is entirely mechanical, it's a great motor with a terrible shell, ford is a better built truck over all, but not as cheap and easy to make power like the cummins

There are more 7.3's still on the road than gm and cummins of the same model years.

I think more 7.3's were built than dodge and gm diesels combined.

To compare the engines alone, the cummins is cheaper to maintain, cheaper and easier to repair/rebuild, built a little beefier, and as said many times before it's easier and cheaper to get big HP out of the cummins.........which I don't really care about because I don't need or want a truck with insane HP people try to get out of these engines.

And the cummins typically gets a little better fuel economy.

Powerstroke vs Cummins (which one is better)

Once we start mods on any of them it compromises them. Stock trucks meticulously maintained will last a long time. We throw injectors and turbos and progammers and them we have a posing contest on whose is better and then call em crap when they blow up. Man, I love diesels! Lol
