Did I do any damage to my rear differential axle tube???
Had to replace my LR axle seal today and the situation i was in when putting the truck back down off the blocks was to lift up and let down the axle by using a floor jack and 2x4 under the axle tube right under where the axle vent tube connects. It was supported there for only 5 minutes or so. Is my axle tube ok???

Yeah, you are fine. Where did you think you should lift from?

Dude you run your 8000k truck down the road on that axle tube... i am fairly certain that lifting it with a floor jack wont hurt it...

Agreed that BS about not lifting from the tube is crap

Trailer axle tubes are different. But you've got a big diff in the middle.

Thanks guys. I always lift from the pumpkin. Makes sense when thinking about it if the tube was that weak you would have major problems on the road. It was a cluster F under there when i was done and the tube was the only solid place i could lift at.
