I want to instal a cb....
I want to instal a cb in the cailing of my truck.. What do i need to do this? i got all my wires ran, its just i didnt know if all i needed was some self tapping screws, or if i needed to fab something up..

well i installed my first CB in Nov for SSS, i like it alot, but it is in the floor below the dash, i will get pics later when the ice is done melting and it is not so cold out...
you really. need to fab something up if you want it in the ceiling, or else the screws will go through the roof and leaks will begin |

If you want to install it on the roof, I would get a thin piece of wood and put it in between the headliner and the roof and run the screws through the headliner into the wood instead of the actual metal in the roof.

Might not be so bad. IIRC the OBS's have a double head liner. There's 3 other CB threads that have posts talking about this. Might have to do a search. If i find it before you i will post it up.

I think you have a center brace you can screw into, pull the liner down some and look.

I made a bracket that got screwed under both visor hooks and the CB hangs from it in the middle. Worked out pretty good.
