OBS 7.3 straight pipe=bad *ss!

ok so basically ive been doing it in stages first obviously i had the factory exhaust on there then i bought the 4'' ss mbrp exhaust which was a mindblowing upgrade (as obs owners know factory exhaust=no turbo noise) and for the longest time i thought about straight piping it and after researching it on here for a while i found out that all 7.3 owners can do it with NO loss of power b/c our turbos are fixed pedistals and that turbo creates so much back pressure that it could in theory only need a downpipe. but everyone else mainly the 6.0 owners have variable vain turbos which run completely diff and need a certain amount of bp to not lose hp and performance. so one day i was curious so i took off the muffler and back . let me tell you it was the most bad *ss raw sound ive heard in my life but unfortunatley i had to put it back bc my dad said the exhaust gasses can cuirculate under the truck and could kill you idk stupid so eventually (now) i got a delete and put it on on monday and its just like i remember im a high schooler and let me tell you drivin down falcon pass every single kid stops and stares! i get thumbs up, and some cover their ears haha so to all obs owners straight piping ur truck is very easy, truck is more responsive, and besides a chip is one of the most "cant take the grin off your face" upgrades!

haha you need a chip on that baby! I put mine back to stock so I can sell it and it is SO LAME! with stock tunes.

oh i see u are a 96er but ya actually the chip was in the works for this christmas BUT back in may i bought a set of 285/75/16 interco super swamper trxus m/t tires (huuuuuge mistake) and here we are in dec and i have under 6k on em and there almost gone! im still steamin about that crap SO instead of a chip and guages i was gonna buy with the help of xmas money i gotta buy a whole new freakin set of tires but yes ive heard our trucks chipped is amazing and hopefully eventually itll happen

I have over 80% left on my bfg mud terains and ive got over 7k miles on them. our trucks arent really amazing with a chip. just a heck of alot better than stock they get really fun once you start playin with injectors.

For a street tire the Truxus arn't all that great, if your wanting a somewhat aggresive tire I would look at a set of BFG all terrains or mud terrains.

i went out and bought mud kings 285-75-16 and i got about 8000 miles on them and they are practically still new and they work pissa in the mud

thats where most your power comes from on an obs exhaust upgrade.

Yes you do, Rick!!!! It's one of the best things you can do to an OBS. It can be a pain, but it's worth it.
