Shifter Knob info?

Sorry OBS crew, I did a basic Internet search with no details to what I want to know!

From my research the OBS uses the ZF5 manual Trans, I assume its the same Trans that are in the 99-03 PSD.

This leads me to believe that the OEM shifter knobs are splined and glued to the shifter rod.

I'm looking for the OD size of the shifter rod where the splines are for the shifter knob. If you had to guess-ta-mate, would you say that the OD is about 1/2" (.500")?

Thanks, Rich

OBS Trucks use the ZF 5-speeds. The SD's use the 6-speeds. I don't have my 94 anymore, otherwise I'd measure it. Cheers!

I'm making billet aluminum knobs, like the ones I made in the pic below. I know the size rod size of the 99-07 ZF5 and ZF6 manuals. Just not sure of the OBS ZF5 rod size.

So the OBS ZF5 is the same ZF5 of the 99-03's?

Uuggg!! And I thought the 6.0 was confusing!!! LOL!!

So what is the OBS manual Trans called? Is there a model number like ZF5 and ZF6?

Sorry for the questions, I'm not educated in the OBS.

Thank you sir!! That's the same size as the 99-03 and 04-07's.

Yes I'll be selling 7 of them in about a week, on this forum in the for sale section. I'll be asking $25 firm plus shipping. They will be held on to the shifter rod with a stainless set screw.

I've made about 20 knobs in the past without any complaints. The only issue was in the winter they get cold, and summer they get hot.

If you want, I'll PM you just before I post them for sale so you can buy one before I post the sale.
