Strange intake noise....
Wife and I went snowshoeing up in the hills today, taking advantage of some gorgeous winter weather we are having - albeit a bit nippy...-6 C
On our way home, we stopped at a gas bar for some fuel and some relief...and as we drove away, the truck was making a strange noise...reminded me of when we were kids and we would flip the air cleaner-cover to get some intake roar out of our pathetic little Datsun engines. This continued all the way home. I usually hear this same sort of noise, from time to time when I drive away after a cold start, but it usually disappears after 5 or 10 minutes. Our fuel-stop was 45 minutes from our house... Is this "normal" or is it something I should be concerned about? The truck ran fine otherwise. |

May be that your Exhaust Back Pressure Valve (EBPV) is sticking closed. Did you notice a lack of power too?

Not really...mind you it was fairly FLAT all the way home, except for one decent hill and it pulled without a problem. I was empty at the time, other than two passengers and gear.
