zf5 swap question

it looks like a can just drill 2 new holes in the e4od crossmember. is there any reason to not do it this way? if not will a 2x4 crossmember work? also, i know you can use the auto wiring harness but will the reverse lights not work? sorry, i know this is a way overposted topic but i cant find these specifics.

Reverse light switch on a manual tranny is just a simple two-wire connector. The "harness" is just a pigtail, prob. five bucks at RockAuto. You'll need to connect it to the reverse light terminals on the auto harness.

ok, it was more than 2 holes needing drilled for the crossmember. but we modified it to work. we measured from bottom of frame to bottom of crossmember on a 5 speed and made mine the same. This should be fine right? and does anybody know which 2 wires are for the reverse lights? thanks
