So on the way home yesterday the converter started slipping and the transmission over heated. Fluid is dark and burnt. Guess it tossed the transmission again. This will be my third transmission. Is there anyway to keep these things together? My truck is stock for the most part and I rarely tow heavy. Wtf?
Anyone know of a decent shop in SoCal so I can quit wasting money on this thing? I can't afford BTS but I need my truck! |

if youre rebuilding it for the thrid time youre probably into it for more or equal to what it would cost to have one built up, so thats the route i would go this time. but if you cant afford it another alternative could be to swap to a manual

Fortunately first two were under warranty from the shop. I'd love to do a manual swap but I'm at work 65-70 hours a week right now.

That what I really want to do but I'm about to move 300 miles away from my shop. It's a pickle for sure.

That's a hell of an offer boss!! I took it back to where I built it and they are standing by their work two years later.
Torque converter is smoked. Gonna stick a triple disk setup in there this time around. |
