Wiring additional lights to the factory bed lights?
I want to add some LED strip lighting to my bed. I figured if I can wire it with the factory bed light on the 3rd brake light, it would make it easier (i.e. no drilling switches) and they would automatically be on when the door is open. Anyone have any recommendations on how to do this and if its possible?

Are these red LEDs that face backward? Wouldn't you want those on the parking light (taillight) circuit?
Or are you talking about more illumination of the bed? |

i believe he is talking about the latter.
OP i don't know where it is but i would find those wires inside the cab and tap into them |

For now I am looking for additional bed lighting. Additional back up lights are the next project.
Does anyone know where the wires/circuit are? |

They should be in the door sill wire runways (under the door sill plates). I believe they are on the drivers side. I cant remember the wire color, but I want to say GREEN/RED

It's called the courtesy light circuit. Per the '95 EVTM, the positive wires to the bulbs are black / light blue. There's a connector in that harness in the door sill, indeed the driver's side, toward the back, should be an 8-pin connector. One of those should be the BK/LB wire to the dome light and the cab roof cargo light.
