fuel tanks

anyone have any experience taking out the sending units? do i need any special tools i already have the bed off. thanks

If you already have the bed off, the hard part is done. I just used a hammer and a large screwdriver to remove the clamp. It popped right off. I was doing mine from underneath, so I cut the lines and used brass hose barbs and clamps. You might want to order the strainer already. They are very fragile, and might already be cracked anyway. Mine was rolling around the bottom of the rear tank, shrunken, hard, and split in two.

this was floating around in the bottom of my tank



Go to ford an buy two new pickups while you have the bed off. After time they fall apart. I believe they were 35 buck apiece

this is what you should have
