Trying to remove rubber bushings on stock airbox

Doing my DIY Tymar intake on my 96 7.3 and can't seem to remove the two front rubber bushings that hold down the front of the box. Cone shaped boogers. Looks like the box slides out but having no luck so far.

Any advice? Do they compress or something?

Got 'em. Thanks. Ended up not fooling with PVC and went to Pep-boys and just got a piece of chrome 6" pipe. Fit like a glove.
