Question about injector codes?
Hello all,
My 97 requires AA codes and I'm considering downsizing. To do so, I've been searching for a set of cores to send in to have rebuilt. I've been fortunate to find someone that's wiling to trade for things I have laying around. As there always is one, the catch is they are AD injectors. My question, upon the rebuilding process, does that code still make a difference? Thanks for the help! |

Reputable shop will be able to rebuild split-shot injectors to single shots.
What do you mean to are "downsizing"? There really isn't anything smaller than a 90cc AA code injector |

I have Jim's 160/80's installed right now.
I made a build mistake. Because these injectors were a gift, I didn't get much time to investigate fully the pro's and con's of this size injector. I'm considering going down to stage 1's or up to hybrid's because they run too hot and require too much oil. Of course I could send mine in and have rebuilt but I thought it'd save me some coin by getting a newly rebuilt set and selling my 5k 160/80's outright. However, I'm about to pull the stock charger out and put in a modded hyper max so before I make another mistake (luckily this gift didn't cost me too much ^^ ) with this build, if anyone would care to chime with any suggestions or tips they would be MUCH appreciated. |

Ahh gotcha. If you dont mind, shoot me a pm with what your looking to sell the 160\80s for.
As far as the Hypermax goes, in my opinion there are better options for cheaper...that is unless you already have the turbo. A stock van turbo, or even just the charger you are running now will clear stage I's without issue. The Hypermax claims a 1:1 ratio at 20psi. While I haven't looked into the turbo extensively, it seems to be on par with a D66 yet more expensive. If you decide to go with a set of small hybrids I would recommend a T-4 mounting kit and S336. They can be had for less than the price of a Hypermax, and move far more air. Last edited by backwoodsboy; 12-15-2012 at 09:10 PM. |
