The bad news bear visited me

Hey guys, pulled my injectors last night and im sending them out today to rosewoods, but I need to replace my sleeves, 3 of them are leaky even thought I had no warning signs. Going to replace them all for good measure.

sleeves I can get for less then 100 bucks, but the tool is 250. Anyone know how to possibly borrow a tool from a local dealing?(slim chance?)

or maybe someone has one kicking around they will let me rent. Ill do a deposit, and pay for shipping. Name your price.

have you checked auto zone they rent tools for the cost of the tool upon return they give your money back

haha, thanks guys for the suggestion. Just called them and they said its not something they carry. He said unless there was a term he wasn't looking up correctly.

I just said Injector sleeve removal tool for a 7.3 powerstroke.


Any other suggestions?

EDIT- Called around to a few local autzones, nothing. Also tried vip.

That is NOT a common of enough tool for any auto parts store to have or rent.

My only suggestion is to buy one and rent it out(to recover your costs) or see if a local diesel repair shop has one your could rent/borrow

haha, thats exactly what i didn't want to hear.

I was hoping someone else on here might have bought one and want to rent it out to recover the cost... I litterly dont think i can afford it right now.

I Didn't think it was possible to have no signs of a leaky injector cup and have it be leaky...if i did i probably would have held off on the project until my FUN budget was a little higher.

I might have to hold off on tuning considering i need the injector cups now.
would it be bad to run my new injectors on canned tunes?

Jim told me that he doesn't rent them because he sells so many he figured people are renting them all over the place.

Hey! I called swamps and they rent the tool if you buy the cups from them, so I just did it! whatver...

Cheaper and at least now its on the way here so i can get this all done and get the truck back on the road.

Its funny, because Ive been cruising this forum a lot, I always see people saying "the wife never understands why if its such a cool, nice truck then why do you always have it apart and always working on it"

haha, my sister said that to me today, I had to laugh. I guess "they dont understand" is the right answer.
