Fuel pump
Howdy All,
Is a fuel pump sold at the Ford dealership for 150.00 the same as the one sold at the O'rielly's for 79.00? I read on some post to only use Motorcraft which might explain why I am going thru these things so often. Thanks, Craig |

Too late chalk it up to lesson learned
Since I have had to replace it twice in a year now, I went with the line of thought "get what you pay for". The last two pumps came from Oreilly's and Autozone I figured I would go with the dealership this time. Oreilly's said their pump was made by some company I have never heard of before.Long story short...........dealership pump and bad pump on the truck are both carters. Now, it probably doesn't matter what pump I put on the truck because I think I am pumping about 50% sand with my fuel into the fuel bowl. I am not exaggerating...I was stunned by how much crap was in the bottom. I pulled the bowl last December when I did the fuel pump and cleaned it then. The JB weld I put in the pitted areas is still there . So that leads me to wonder what is in my tanks and how do I clean them out? I'll do a separate post on this topic. Also, I plan to do the FPR shim while it's all apart.Craig |

the fuel pump that your local ford dealership sells is the same fuel pump you can get at Napa, autozone, kragen, pepboys, etc. the ONLY difference is the price.. reguardless, where you purchase your fuel pump they all come with a 1 year warranty. good luck.
