Ok so I have A friend that has a truck for sale complete everything 97 SCLB 5spd manual 4x4 for sale thinking about Swaping everything from e40d to the 5spd donor truck runs great just has a dented wrecked body that I don't mind scrapping and reverse syncro is stripped bad he says its a 400 dollar fix i can just swap every thing I need and sell the rest get the 5spd fixed and new clutch and rebuild kit. The guy wants 1600 bucks for everything should I jump on this deal??? Makes sense to me to be all over this like white on rice since my e4od is crapping out on me and I don't want to spend a small fortune on a rebuilt or new one. Should I go for it ?

I mean I think I can actually make money off this deal and get what I want a 5spd swap PCM transfer case and drive shafts the works I'm excited as i can be man I've always loved and still miss my first truck that was 5spd

Yes, u can part the truck out when your done and scrap what u cant. If u dont make money u will have a free trans

I will also have a motor too for a possible overhaul/ build with better parts and can swap that in for my tired motor I have in my truck now.

U said it b4 i did... even if u were torn between a 5 speed and auto, look at the cost of the auto and the deal u have in front of u where u will end up with a free transmission. And u will be guaranteed to have every part u need by having the whole truck

Will I have to do any wiring harness changing out??? More specifically the harness that used to go to the e4od and to the new manual trans for say the neutral safety switch and the steering colomn too?

I've purchased a junk (junk as in just hit a deer and dented the hood) Superduty for $1000. Came out even after I robbed all the parts off of it.
