1995 F350 T-case fill question

On the Borg Warner t-case, is there a trick to filling it? (As in, do you need to snake a hose way in there, or just get the fluid in right at the fill hole?) I ask because the t-case seems to be leaking fluid all over the garage floor, yet when I try to add fluid through the fill hole it barely takes any before running back out. And the transmission (ZF5) fluid is full, so I think it has to be coming from the transfer case. Any ideas? The attached photo is the view looking down toward the fill hole.

I just changed to fluid in our work truck and I used a suction gun, it is a lincoln, looks kind of like a grease gun, but a suction gun(at least that is what I call it). It was a bit messy, but it worked.
