Cruise wont stay engaged! Help!

On my way home from work today my cruise control just kicked out. I tried to set it again and it wouldnt do anything. I waited a few miles and tried it again. This time it worked fine. Drove a few miles and it kicked out again. And again it would not set. Any ideas?

One thing that come's to mind is checking the brake light switch. If it is not adjusted properly just a slight bump it the road may cause it to kick it out of cruise.

On my 95 when I had the oil changed at the dealer about a yr ago there was a recall on some sort of relay or switch on the cruise control they just put it in when I was there. Might ck into that also

Yeah that's the 'so-it-doesn't-burn-to-the-ground-mod'. Haha. IIRC it's a fusible link installed inline in the CC circuit.
