I don't remember the code but all you have to do is look under the hood. The IDI engine will have a injection pump with steel lines to the back of it in the engine valley and the powerstroke will have a fuel filter in the valley with a black engine cover (if the cover is still there). The picture is a IDI engine which is by no means a bad engine, I've owned several and modded a couple for much more power than stock.
