turbo

I was woundering how much of a boost difference there is between a 2002 7.3 turbo and a 1996. I got the 02 and want to put it in my 96 7.3

It wont fit on there, there are multiple things different on your truck compaired to an 02. The turbo pedistal and exhaust up-pipes, and some othere stuff all need to be changed, Its quite involved to change an old body style truck like yours to a new style turbo. Your best bet for a turbo upgrade is a D66 turbo from Beansdieselperformance.com, its a direct bolt on and flows some good air, much more than a stock 02 turbo could ever dream about.

the pedastal I have from the 02 is the exact same as the 96. And to change out the up pipes is a mader of four bolts every thing seems to mach up. Only thing i have to figer out if i want to run an innercooler or make a costom inlet of my turbo.

pedistals are not the same. the earlier turbos are better imo, you dont have to worry about surge with them. Also 1 exhaust manifold is different, i think its the driver side.
