New OBS owner!

Well I have been a Cummins owner for years now and I love L6 engines but hate the body they are installed in. Just last week I found a 96 F350 4x4 Crew cab. Went to look at the truck, the owner wasnt home, it was near spotless. 1 small dent in the bed, rear bumper tweaked, crack in windshield, drivers door pins worn. Now the good, 152k miles, spotless interior, no rips tears or stains, 4 brand new BFG A/T's, no rust anywhere, paint shines like new. The owner was asking $7500, after I picked away all the bad stuff and we settled on a price I bought it for $4600! I think it was a good deal anyway.

I have a few small things I need to do, going to replace all injector o-rings, get a decent exhaust on it, I have already installed a TS Performance chip and bought a 6.0 intercooler to install. I love the room in it and you cant beat the OBS bodystyle. I am sure I will be hitting all of you experience PSD owners up for hints, tips. Pretty happy so far. Doesnt have the grunt of the old Cummins but it will get there.

I like it. I am pretty new to the Powerstroke so I am learning as I go. Been a mechanic of all sorts my whole life, everything from Helicopters and fighter jets to V-20 Cat engines to vintage Harleys. Only thing I dont like is all the sensors and wires. The older ones are stronger and more proven engines though. Not a fan of automatics but they can be built pretty good with enough money.

zf5 tranny conversions are cheap, i have all my parts lined up. seems like these cost more to hop up, but it's worth it!

That seems like an extremely good deal on a CCLB. Seems like they usually go for more. Sounds like you did really good!
