Passenger Side exhaust manifold

I got a ticking manifold. Has anyone ever replaced the gasket on the passenger side exhaust manifold? If so how big of pain in the balls am i looking at lol. Thanks.

No exhaust manifold gaskets on these trucks. They mate straight to the block. I haven't seen any that tick, I'd suggest that there's something else ticking.

your up pipe going from your mani to the turbo..

when its running go out and put your hand around and see if you feel an exhaust leak it wont be to hott so you should be fine if you start it cold and let it idle and check it

the bolts work loose all the time. you can tighten up the bolts with a 3/8 impact.

Yep no gaskets from the factory (but there are some that you can get). The manifold bolts break off all the time as well. Here's the part numbers for the gasket and bolts:

I run gaskets on mine, IMHO it helps it seal better unless yours are somehow still perfect from the factory. When I did my frame off I noticed that it had been blowing out for some time. If you do remove them just soak it for a couple hours in break-free or something, they get really stuck.

Check the head!!!!! Mine had a hairline crack in it right behind where the manifold bolts up to it!! you can check it from the wheel well with the truck idling. PITA to get in there and weld up but it can be done!! ( the hole on mine went right into the exhaust port thats why it was ticking!!)

Im gonna check the up pipe on it. My manifold looks whooped.. But from 16 years of ny salt i wouldnt suspect and less. I will take a photo and show you guys. If it is the manifold how would i go about taking it off? Thanks for all the info too.
