Steering Ball joint boot size?

'95 F250 4x4 RCLB 5-speed 160,000-ish miles

Cr@p - greasing the ball joints the other day, and while doing the one between the drag link and the left outer tie rod, I blew it out - tore it. That's a generic boot I can replace, right? I just don't know the diameter. And I just pop the joint out with a pickle fork and then I can replace the boot, right? No real 411 in the FSM; they assume you're gonna replace the tie rod with a fresh ball joint installed.
