What is the need for filtering the coolant?

Hey Nick and 99',
I just recently purchased a coolant filter setup from O'rielly's. I found information about this on a couple of different sites. The advantage is that it cuts down on the wear and tear on the coolant system, pulls out sediment and extends the service life of the water pump and some other benefits. Look at the following links. Also, when I find my reciept I will post part#'s and prices that I paid. Hope this helps. If it is something that makes a noticeable difference......say increasing the life of the system by a noticeable percentage then I may look at it.
