1997 Powerstroke

Hey guys i am new to the forums. I am wanting to buy a 94 to 97 powerstroke and i found one in my home town it is a 1997 F350 Crew Cab with 220000 and they want 7900. It has a rebuilt title because the cab got hit by a bucket truck and they put a new cab on it. It was owned by an old man and has never had anything done to it. I was wanting to get someones opinion if it was a good deal and i should get it?

Hey cjmiller23 I really dont think its that good of a deal because i just bought a 97 F-250 with a clear title and i only paid $2,650 for it. Mine is a 7.3 5 speed supper cab with after market bumpers and grill guard but mine does have 300000 miles on it. I would say if you look around u will find a better deal but that would be up to you. what state are you looking in because if you are close to Texas then you will find cheap 7.3 all day long.

i am in indiana and damn do i wish i was in texas cause diesels are extremely high up here i went and looked at a 97 f350 regualar car with 150000 miles and they wanted 13900 when it retails for 8800 in excellent condition lol so i am going to try and find some deals without having to drive 1000 miles lol

I feel your pain. It took me like three months to find a truck for my dad and it was about 4 hours one way. I think that price is high, but they are hard to come by for a fair price. If you are willing to travel you will find one for a better price. Just keep an eye on craigslist and you will find one. What are you really looking for, cuz I look for trucks everyday on craigslist.

I am really wanting a 1997 powerstroke of course 4x4 and would like for it to be a 5 speed with half way decent miles on it and yes they are hard to come by

I find it especially hard to find decent F-350s. How far are you willing to travel, cuz if I see one I could let ya know. There was a truck about 5 miles from me for sale, a 97 F-350 cclb with like 220,000 for $6700. We actually worked for the guy before and my dad said he was a really good guy, I think it sold though, it's not on craigslist anymore.

well how far are you i live like midwest indiana and it doesnt have to be a 350 it can be a 250

I am about an hour west of Chicago, if that helps. If ya want I can let ya know if I find anything, I am always looking. What is your price range and how many miles are you comfortable with?

yea yyour area is fine i can drive that far...and around 10,000 is what i want to spend and i would like it under 200,000

I am looking right now and found a few. The F-250 says sold, but the posting isn't that old. The first F-350 needs work, but is a pretty fair price IMO. I constantly look, so if I find any more decent trucks, I will let ya know if ya want.
