96 F250 axle swap
Hi, im a new user on here. Im a senior in highschool and going to college next year for diesel tech. Anyways, i came across a 1996 F250 7.3l with a 166k miles, amazing shape, 1 onwer, perfectly taken care of ,for a good price too. Then a guy i know has a 1989 F350 n/a, lifted 6inches, with nice rims, but the rest of the truck is no good. So i want to get both of them, then swap the axles and the lift off of the 89 n/a to the 96 powerstroke wich has the I beam front axle. I figured it would be an awsome project for me and i would end up with a sweet truck, but I need some opinions from other people who have done this or know anything about this stuff, any advice would really help.
Thank you!! |

frank gave you a good write up. it has been done many times before. i have done two. can be done within a day without problems. but whatever you do make sure you rebuild the axles before you put them under the truck
