battery light

I have been searching forum for answers but no luck, just replaced the batteries and all cables on my 96, now batt light is flashing, alternator tested good at Advanced Auto, all wire connections look good, thing is the light goes off when I put a load on the alternator,my only guess is that the regulator is acting up, I am planning on installing an inverter soon so if I have to replace the alt I want to upgrade it now, any ideas or suggestions ? Thanks

Mine did that and it turned out to be factory connector on the back/top of the alt.
