Can't pull codes on 97 F350

Three meters, from $50 to $250 can't pull a code from my truck even though the check engine light is on. I'm wondering if being a 97 it isn't fully OBDII compliant. One of the meters says there are 124 codes to pull but doesn't pull a single one.

Does anyone else have a 97 that they can pull codes from? What meter make and model do you use?

Does anyone know of a certain type of meter that will pull from this early OBDII truck?

Thanks in advance,

Or you can buy a Superchips 1705 MAX tuner. Never had a problem pulling codes on mine with that. Happen to know a guy who's selling one over in the classifieds right now....and the added performance isn't half bad either:wink[3]:

But seriously, A.E. with the ford enhanced bundle is the way to go as far as scanning.
