Shifter knob lights??

This is probably a really stupid question but i was wondering if anyone has ever seen or heard of someone making the gear numbers on their shifter glow or light up like the dashboard panels. I just thought itd be really cool if someones done it. Thanks

I've thought about it in the past, but it would be a lot of work. You'd have to remove the indicator plate and somehow remover the white plastic without destroying the black plastic. Then mix up a batch of epoxy with just a bit of white paint so it is translucent and pour it in. Getting the wire up would be a pain since these trucks don't have a full rubber boot all the way to the knob, o that would be another obstacle, then there is making space under the indicator plate to fit the LEDs. (I wouldn't bother with incandescent lamps after all that work.)
