Oil Filters
Hello my name is Nick and I have a 1996 F-250 4X4 short bed crew cab 2 inch suppention lift Tymar intake with only the down pipe for exhaust. I have 179,000 miles on it. I would like to know if there are any other good quailty oil filters out there other then the ford filter. My local walmart does carry ford filters or else I would go there, and the ford dealer wants like 18 bucks for the filter. I here the napa gold is a good filter becasue it really is a wix, but I just want to check with you guys. Also I am looking for a coolant filter to install and I am wondering if anyone has done this and did it work out ok, and can you get your parts at your local napa. Thanks for all of your help.

try auto zone or advance. they have motor cracft filter's cheap. napa filter's are made by wix, so are car quest and probably some other store brand's to. be careful because i've had some filter's that wont stay tight but the motor craft one's do. dont know why.

Yeah the autoparts stores usually carry the filters pretty cheap. Much cheaper than dealers, and the motorcraft is a fine filter, wouldn't go with anything else.
