can anyone answer this? 10k question
i tried doing the 10k / 18k / 5.6k resistor mod ive been reading about. i jumped different resistors across the icp wires. blu/green & red gray. there is absoletely no effect. no idle looping, no increase in power. i unpluged the sensor just to make sure it was working and yes, the idle changes and check engine light comes on. its a 95 dually. is there any reason /explanation as to why there would be no change? i tried pushing the leads into the top of the pin through the rubber boot , and even stripped a small piece of the wires and wrapped the leads of the resistors around them.. nothing either way connections were definately made.. i tried 10k 5.6k and 1k.. nothing..

ready this mod is simple dont do it and buy a chip/programmer and it does the samething its better and safer. I can get TS chips for $250 and its alot better then screwing around with this mod

im really not interested in a chip or programmer right now. i just wanted to hook the thing up to a switch and see what all the hype was about. now im just curious why its not doing anything.. i mean NOTHING.. no idle change, no power change.. so now im just curious why.. id never drive around with the thing always on anyway.. id probably play with it a few times and then turn it off and forget it. im not looking to try and make this a race car

There was several links that referenced this issue. This issue is why the 10k has fallen out of favor.

the question im asking is why do identically produced trucks have different reactions to the same thing, with extreme differences at that listen - you seem pretty intent on becoming a thorn in my side, so if your gonna keep this up on yet another thread let me know and ill go join another forum |

i appreciate the advice from everyone thats been there.. i assure you im aware the chip and programmers are a better option, but really im just looking for an answer as to why some people notice big changes, and others notice nothing on trucks that are all suppose to be built the same.
what would be the likely explanation for this? |
