like to get more power out of my 97...

I have a 1997 F250 5 speed 4x4 supercab with 180,000 miles and I'd Like to get more power. Dad owns a landscaping company so I help him alot. I do alot of towing for my dad like pulling a trailer with lawmowers, or a trailer with a new holland L185 skidloader or some other things.. I have already put a k&n cold air intake that I got from advance auto, straight pipe (but soon get rid of the 3.5 in pipe and go with the 4 inch pipe to 5 inch tip) when i change out the 3.5 inch pipe, im going to get rid of the factory down pipe and put the 3 inch down pipe that i have now. Any body have any ideas?

Thanks to everyone who replies with ideas

DP chip will do wonders for ya. I have a TS 6 position chip and it really woke up my 97.

It really depends on how much power you want to make. A chip will make it feel like a new truck. However, unfortunately with our OBS trucks we are limited to the amount of power we make due to small injectors. Once you get injectors, then you'll want a new turbo and the list goes on and on and on

First, you need to get rid of that downpipe! You will be able to get about 200 HP out of the stock injectors. If that will suffice, I would get a custom chip and gauges. I also like the smaller 1.0 turbine housing for a quicker spool. If you plan on towing, I would add an intercooler, also. I would also get rid of the factory dual mass flywheel and go with a single mass conversion and a good clutch from South Bend or Luk.

If you need more power, stage 1 injectors will be good with the stock turbo, or stage 2's with a larger turbo.

You are gonna love that truck once you get a few mods on it! These guys really know what they're talkin about, so the more info you give about how you'll be using your truck, the more help you'll get!

i'd say more along the lines of 240 at the wheels for a 97 and about 230-235 for the 94.5-96...

a chip or tuner will make such a huge difrence youll think your driving a difrent truck but theirs still much to be desired after that the obs trucks dont make real fun power untill you get bigger injectors
