Safe for stock auto
I have a 2000 powerstroke with a stock auto and 4" turbo back. I have egt, boost, tranny gauges on the way. I was wondering if I would get a 6 position from kt performance with just stock, high idle, whisper, 40 daily and smoke would I encounter tranny issues

Why waste money on 6-position chip if you're going to fill it up with 5 so-so tunes?
And what exactly is a "whisper tune"? Not trying to sound harsh, just want to make sure you get the most out of your hard earned money. |

The whisper tune is for drive thrus it quiets down the engine alot. I thought I listed 6 I'm going to get all six I'm just not getting anything like the 140 tune etc

Just took a look at their website.
If it were me, I'd go with: 1)stock 2) 40HP 3) 65HP 4) 100HP 5) Whisper 6) High Idle And limit the 100HP to the occasional ricer who thinks a fart-can exhaust makes them go fast. I'm not a huge fan of 'smoke' tunes, but if thats what you wan't trade it in for the 100HP. Keep in mind that for the most part, high HP numbers equates to higher fuel economy and as long as you drive it reasonably your transmission should hold up fine. I believe the typical economy tune actually ups the horsepower by roughly 60. Whisper tune sounds interesting to me. Post up with how well you like that. |

Alright thanks yeah the whisper tune sounds handy. Theres videos on the web that demonstrate it if you want to get an idea of what it's like

If you have gauges and watch them and don't beat on the truck you won't have any tranny issues you weren't going to have without the chip
