Weird Occurrence this morning when trying to start
I had my truck plugged in all night. Got in the truck to start it, the wait to start light came on but not as long as usual because I had it plugged in. I waited until the wait to start light went off and then turned the key to start it and nothing happened. Left the key in the on position, tried it again in 30 seconds, nothing happened. Tried it about a minute later and it started up just fine. Can anyone help me with why this happened? What are the interlock to letting the engine start? Thanks.

auto or manual? Did you hear a click from passenger side fender?

No clicking, just silence. Automatic. I turned the key and the usual warning lights on the dash went out and the battery stayed on. That is typical. Just silence. I did the typical make sure it was in park and everything else.

If this happens again , put it in neutral, then try it. I had the same problem with my manual trans. It was the clutch interlock working when it wants to.

i think that is the only safety switch on the auto trannsmission. Try wiggling the shifter too and see if that makes it work
