97 F250 Problems
A lady my wife works with has a 97 F250 and wanted me to post this for her to get some opinions on what the problem might be. So here it is
Jim "There are a couple of things going on. One is that it hesitates for lack of a better word, at a constant speed. For example, at a constant speed of 55mph the RPM's dropped and revved without me doing anything. Getting off the freeway, slowing down and then taking back off at the yield sign it was like it hesitating, like getting fuel but not going on. It didn't really seem like a transmission problem, though. The cruise control has been acting up too. Not sure whether it is related to the problem above or not. At times it will not set, at other times is sets, but kicks off on its own. It has also acted like is was disengaging, but then caught back up." |

Sounds to me like the first place to start would be a rear diff speed sensor....they are cheap and an easy place to start....
the surge could be a fuel pump, ICP sensor, or a weak HPOP......its possible its related to the speed sensor too though, so thats where i would start.. |

had a problem with cruise too, similar to above, was the switches on the horn pad, got some new ones at a wrecker, now it's fine.
