Transmission worries....

Alright, so i just posted about it in another thread but i had a question and didnt want to hijack so i decided to make another thread. My tranny is stock and has never been worked on or upgraded, just maintained as it was supposed to be. its the E40D auto and its got 246,000 miles. it shifts great, no wierd noises, everything works the way its supposed to. my problem is, i dont know if its a ticking time bomb or what. Im 17 years old, and while im not your average idiot kid and i know when to lay off the gas pedal, my driving reflects that (friday night cruising mainly). my trucks not chipped, and i dont tow much and when i do never over 6,000 pounds, at least until i get a gooseneck hitch put it in. Should i be worried about my trans going out??

you question is wether its going to go or not? as long as you keep it maintained and keep easy on it you should be fine, but it is an auto, its like owneing a 5 speed, parts wear, but as long as its doing fine, keep up the maintenence and seems like it would be fine imho, just keep saving money for when it does

Like anything else nothing lasts forever but proper maintenance goes a long way. I just changed out my trans and it had 307000 miles on it and all that was wrong with it was the intermediate seal went out.
