Hello Friends, Lone Ranger here in Australia.....
I have a 2003 PSD, loaded with toys and off-road gear.... But the engine has all these electronic widgets on it that need computer diagnostics... I lament the loss (sold) my 1993 F-350 with the all mechanical engine... That I could work on in the Bush if I had to. I carried spares like injectors, fuel injection pump, a starter motor, water pump, alternator, regulator, TPSensor, transmission shift module, a hoses and belts and a few other things.. In other words, with that one tool box of goodies, just about any breakdown in the 5000 kilometres of the Outback and I was relatively confident I could do a roadside repair..
THERE WAS ONE YEAR, 1994? 1995? CAME OUT WITH A FACTORY TURBO AND NON ELECTRONIC RUN ENGINE... I am thinking about going back in time here, but there are a few of those around in Oz here, and I had coverted my 4x4 to a Dually F-350 4x4 ALL NON ELECTRONIC... Would be a plus for me.... Thinking about building a custom "Old Fashioned Twuck"
HOW DID THOSE FACTORY ENGINES RUN (NON ELECTRONIC ONE YEAR OF FACTORY TURBO???) Were they OK? Fuel hungry? Was the new computer run engine just a case of lower emissions? What do you think?
FORD
Thanks in advance, Ranger in Oz....
